IE School of Science and Technology and the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society Agree to Foster Cultural, Scientific, and Academic Collaboration
The IE University and RSME partnership opens opportunities for collaboration and innovation, from joint workshops to research programs.
IE School of Science and Technology cemented its position as a major hub for science and technology in Europe by signing an agreement with the Royal Spanish Society of Mathematics (RSME). The primary goal is to encourage and enable meaningful collaboration between academic and industry professionals to drive progress and innovation in the field of Applied Mathematics.
The new collaboration calls for the joint organization of the IE-RSME Workshops series Applied Mathematics and Knowledge Transfer, in which experts from academia and industry will gather to discuss current applications of mathematics in different industrial sectors.
The first workshop will be on “Applied Mathematics for Sustainability,” and will be held on May 29.
This will allow both IE and RSME to leverage their resources and expertise to advance their shared goals.
“The students will know the interdisciplinary aspect of applied mathematics. This collaboration makes a strong commitment both young people as well as to future generations,” said Eva Gallardo, RSME’s president, at the signing of the agreement. “I believe that having agreements of these characteristics is essential.”
The workshops will be organized twice a year on different topics in which mathematics are used for problem solving.
“To have such an agreement with the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society is a milestone and a fundamental element to the development we offer our students,” said Salvador Carmona, IE rector, at the signing of the partnership.
