IE School of Science and Technology Signs Strategic Agreement with Axion
IE School of Science and Technology signed a wide-ranging, strategic agreement with Axion-Lineox, the wholesale operator of telecommunication infrastructures and services, that paves the way for internships for students.
The deal was signed by Jose Esteves, Vice Dean of Graduate Studies, and Araceli Garcia Cuartango, current CEO and Executive President of Axion and Lineox and recently appointed Academic Director of IE University’s Master in Computer Science and Business Technology.
In addition to opening the door for internships in the companies, the new accord sees the development of capstone projects and challenges for the students in different programs throughout the school. It also allows for collaboration on research projects, the joint organization of seminars, conferences and workshops, as well as exploring the design and implementation of other STEM programs and courses.
Students will benefit immediately from the new framework that offers continuous reciprocal information flow about job offers and internships at the company in the areas of technology, data and sustainability.
Axion and Lineox are two telecom companies owned by the independent investment management firm Asterion Industrial Partners. They operate as an integrated business with 145 employees. Having more than 600 sites, they provide 5000 service points for broadcasting radio and TV, private emergency network service and different infrastructure services to telecom operators, among which the most significant one is the connectivity service based on a 8500 radiolinks network.
