IE University transforms STEM education with IE School of Science and Technology, the major SciTech Hub in Europe
The School, with 1,000 students from 80 countries in undergrad and Master programs, bridges the gap between STEM research, tech companies, and entrepreneurs.
IE University has announced the launch of its new IE School of Science and Technology, the major SciTech Hub in Europe. Led by Dean Ikhlaq Sidhu, the School sets a new standard in STEM education and will shape a new profile of multi-disciplinary, impact-driven, technology leaders who are connected to the corporate world. The School bridges the gap between STEM research, tech companies, and entrepreneurs in the field of science and technology with innovative hands-on learning, high-impact research, and a practical multidisciplinary methodology.
IE School of Science and Technology kicks off the new academic year with 1.000 students of 80 nationalities, in undergraduate and Master programs in the fields of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems Management, Data and Business Analytics, Computer Science and Business Technology, and Business Analytics and Big Data. Top countries in terms of students’ nationalities are Italy, France, Germany, United States, and Mexico.

The School serves as a gateway for students to access the big tech-related careers worldwide, as well as offering a connection to worldwide STEM researchers and corporate leaders. Ninety two percent of recent graduates are working in tech positions right upon graduation, and 85% of them work in tech companies. Main employers include Amazon, Meta, Uber, Google, Glovo, Linkedin, Microsoft, Qualtrics, Celonis, Oracle, and Salesforce.
According to the QS Business Analytics Ranking published last week, IE School of Science and Technology's Master in Business Analytics and Big Data ranks 7th worldwide, and is also ranked 3rd globally in terms of employability.
Metaverse Catalyst Conference
This week, IE School of Science and Technology is hosting the Metaverse Catalyst Conference in Madrid (October 6-8), which focuses on the research and entrepreneurial opportunities related to the global build out of the Metaverse. Metaverse academic experts from around the world will address subjects like the gamification of education, wearable electronics, simulation tools, the global ecosystem of technology and many other cutting-edge, and applied research issues. The conference also serves as a planning event for collaborative activities related to the IE Metaverse Center, recently launched by IE University and Elysium Ventures, a Silicon Valley-based technology investment fund.
