Two Sci-Tech Students Create Organization App Bleane
The Start-Up created by Frederic Hornemann and Fatih Öztürk will start tests in IE University
A year ago, two students from IE School of Science and Technology decided to turn their brainstorm idea into a business opportunity. This semester they launched Bleane, an all-in-one solution for daily organization.
And they've offered the new application to the IE University community as a test environment. It will be first available for the Sci-Tech School starting from October 26th, and then it will spread from department to department.
Öztürk is in his fourth year of the IE Bachelor of Data & Business Analytics, while Hornemann studied Business Informatics at the University of Mannheim. They met in the IE Madrid campus, where Hornemann spent a semester abroad.
The idea for Bleane came when the pair noticed that although organization had an increasingly important role in their lives, in most cases, it required inefficient, manual effort.
“We noticed that almost all of our friends were still using Excel to keep track of their finances and had at least 3-4 different apps for calendar scheduling, task overview, project management and more,” explained Öztürk.
Bleane covers all major areas of personal daily life while merging the content of all the organization apps already in use into a single point.
“We’re not telling you to cheat on your other apps, but better, we integrate them into Bleane.” Frederic Hornemann
Through an AB testing process conducted on the IE community, Öztürk and Hornemann aim to gain valuable insights from different perspectives and identify what features of the app work best.
Students shared their enthusiasm among each other after learning about Bleane.
“I think it is a really good idea! Incorporating different apps in one single place. I will definitely try it out and see how it works,” said Mariano Abad, third-year BBA and Law student.
