IE University and HashiCorp Sign Strategic Agreement Opening International Tech Hub in Madrid
The partnership with the Silicon Valley company will open opportunities for IE students and alumni to work in STEM.
As part of its mission to build one of Europe’s leading Sci-Tech hubs, IE University signed a strategic agreement with HashiCorp, a top tech company from Silicon Valley to join forces in opening a new international hub in Madrid.
The wide-ranging alliance was announced at the launch of Hashicorp’s new hub in Madrid and aims to open career opportunities for IE University’s students and alumni in STEM, while simultaneously upscaling HashiCorp’s work in cloud infrastructure. Raquel Mediavilla, from IE Talent & Careers Recruiter Relations and Partnerships team, nurtured the relationship with Hashicorp over months to achieve this alliance.
“At IE University, we are building one of Europe’s leading Sci-Tech hubs in the form of an entrepreneurial-driven, rigorous polytechnic. The fact that HashiCorp has planted its flag here in Madrid allows us to combine synergies and transform the Spanish capital into a hub of technology,” said Ines Drieselmann, Vice President of Alumni and Careers at IE University.

“We selected Madrid because of the nature of what Madrid brings to us as an organization. The diverse, technical talent, good food, great weather, geopolitical stability,” he highlighted. “The hub here in Madrid allows us to be exponentially bigger, because it allows us to scale globally, it allows us to take advantage of what Madrid offers from the talent standpoint. It allows us to innovate.”
In addition to Polizzi and Drieselmann, top executives from Hashicorp, IE University, IE Business School and IE School of Science and Technology were present at the launch and will see their students and alumni directly affected by the agreement. John Coronado, Economic Counselor of the US Embassy in Madrid, Luis Socias, Director of Invest in Madrid and Silvia Roldan Fernandez, Vice-Minister of Digitalization of the Community of Madrid were also on hand for the announcement.
