55 representatives and 270 undergraduate and master students networked face-to-face at the event.

IE Talent and Careers hosted the third edition of the Careers Day on Sustainability and Social Impact at the IE Tower, featuring 55 representatives from 20 companies in 7 sectors, including consulting, energy, tech, and finance.

The event is a key part of IE Sustainability Week, an annual celebration of one of the university’s core values that embodies its commitment to weaving sustainability into its core, including workshops, debates, initiatives, and collaborations with key industry players.

Some 270 attending undergraduate and master students had direct access during a 3-hour networking space to HR heads and top management bringing more than 50 vacancies for students.

The feature panel "Shaping the Future: Opportunities in the Sustainability Workforce" inaugurated the event, with opening remarks by Concepción Galdón, Vice-Dean of Business with Purpose at IE, and moderated by Tammy Singer, Senior Associate Director and Business Development Lead at IE Talent & Careers, where representatives from 4 leading companies provided industry insights.

"The Fair allows us to place IE on the radar of the business community, showcasing how we are educating sustainability-oriented students who are knowledgeable and interested in the field."

"It also helps us understand what type of roles the market is most in need of, and ultimately match students to recruiters."

Javier Moret, Global Head of LNG at RWE Supply and Trading and alumnus from one of IE’s Executive Programs, Jorge Cienfuegos, Co-Founder of CUBRO Design and former mentor of the IE MBA Start-Up Lab, Paura Moreno, Sustainability and Impact Consultant at Transcendent and Michelle Bordin, Corporate HR Director at XCalibur discussed salary myths, desirable student profiles, and industry trends.

A key point of discussion was the scarcity and increasing importance of hybrid profiles with basic ESG knowledge as a complementary skill.

"According to the latest Global Green Skills Report by LinkedIn, there is a higher demand than supply for Green Skills, so it is crucial for recruiters to meet our students and see that we are educating them in this realm," said Singer.

IE University offers a variety of undergraduate and master programs focused on sustainability, including the Bachelor in Environmental Sciences for Sustainability and the Master in Sustainability and Business Transformation, as well as sustainability tracks for other programs.

Among the 55 company representatives, 11 alumni and 5 current student interns attended.

Angelo Gabriel Pillas, IE Alumni of the Master in Digital Marketing and Marketing Director at Mantalon, highlighted the sustainability focus that IE includes across its degrees.

"IE taught me to think about and apply sustainability in every project and every campaign," said Pillas, "Now, being here allows me to give back to the university and meet other well-prepared and international students."

Various recruiters also highlighted the knowledge and enthusiasm for sustainability presented by IE students.

"The IE student profile stands out in its international nature as well as complementary training they receive, effectively preparing them for the job market," said Carmen Vallejo, HR Talent Attraction and Acquisition representative at EY.

IE Talent and Careers continues to provide direct access to recruiters and allow students to showcase their unique strengths. Next in the Global Impact sector, The Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs) Day, will take place on January 29th, where intergovernmental organizations will meet aspiring professionals and share with them their projects, initiatives, and opportunities.
