The Young Corporate Program (YCP) helps ambitious students get professional experience early

The Young Corporate Program (YCP) | IE Talent & Careers

IE Talent & Careers has designed a new program for competitive students who are itching to get started in the real business world from day one. Aimed at first- and second-year bachelor’s students at IE University, the Young Corporate Program connects companies with bold, motivated young professionals who can’t wait to get started in the corporate world.

“From IE Talent & Careers, we support our students throughout their degree to help them secure positions both during their studies and, of course, after graduation.” Carlos Diez, the Director of Talent & Careers for IE University, knows that preparing students for the real world of work is a top priority at IE, and it starts the day they enroll.

To that end, IE Talent & Careers has launched the Young Corporate Program (YCP), specifically designed to identify and develop talent among IE University students. The YCP provides young professionals with the opportunity to gain real-world corporate experience in a specific company, starting early on in their degree.

WHO IS THE YOUNG CORPORATE PROGRAM FOR?

The YCP is for ambitious, driven bachelor’s students who are keen to immerse themselves in the real corporate world as soon as possible. The YCP is open to any IE University student in either their first year of a single degree program or their second year of a dual degree program, at either the Madrid or Segovia campus.

WHO ARE THE PARTICIPATING COMPANIES?

The YCP is proud to partner with a diverse range of collaborating companies—from big multinationals to global non-profit organizations or exciting young startups—that come from a variety of industries. No matter the size or sector, these companies are innovators who are eager to explore new ways to work with emerging, top-tier talent.

Some of our partner companies include: Ambientair, EARN IT!, Futuro Perfect, GV Legal Control, Grupo Copese, Heurística, Hogan Lovells, Huercasa, KPMG, Kraft & Walkers, Latham & Watkins, Neovantas, Peñalara, Scale Up Partner, Squire Patton Boggs, The Objective, Tinkle, United Way Spain, VMware

So what’s the benefit for the participating companies? The students in the YCP are bold, fresh young professionals from around the world who are eager to learn new skills and dive into the corporate world as soon as possible. Companies participating in the program lock in this bright talent before they even graduate—and many of the companies have had a hard time choosing just one.

Want your company’s name to be up there, too? Join the Young Corporate Program and get top talent for your job openings. Reach out to us at ieu.careers@ie.edu. We’ll be happy to welcome you!

HOW DOES THE YCP WORK?

Throughout the YCP, the companies guide students through the General Program Path, a four-year program where students have the opportunity to live a professional experience until the last year of their degree.

The YCP General Program Path typically includes the following activities: company insight, mentoring, shadowing, the internship, and the final thesis.

In some cases, the YCP offers the possibility to select the Segovia Program Path, where students will have the opportunity to live a virtual professional experience for two years.

Isabel Martin, creator of the YCP and leader of  Talent & Careers operations for the Segovia campus, explains;

“This program was created in response to the demand of IE University’s most junior students to learn about the job market. We are confident that the experiences they will acquire in the program will not only broaden their professional knowledge, but also forge their professional character. The Young Corporate Program develops tomorrow’s leaders.”

During the first edition of the Young Corporate Program, it received over 450 applications from students from diverse degrees. The first part of the selection process, carried out by IE Talent & Careers, saw 160 students selected to participate in the company insight phase of the YCP in April. During this time, the companies gave presentations about their businesses, both in person and virtually.

We’re thrilled to see how quickly the Young Corporate Program is developing, and both the students and the companies are excited for the next steps! The next edition of the YCP will kick off with the student pre-selections phase in February 2022. Stay tuned for updates!
