An insightful couple of months for the Young Corporate Program candidates

From March to April 2023, a total of 367 of IE undergraduate students and 30 partner companies have gathered for a round of “Company Insights”, one of the key stages in our program designed to give our most junior students a sense of how the job market works.

For the 3rd edition of the Talent & Careers Young Corporate Program (YCP), 30 companies partnered with IE University to select students to participate in the YCP’s General Program and the Project Program. The General Program is a 4-year commitment where students work closely with the company throughout their entire studies at IE, whereas the Project Program allows students to participate in a 1-year project with the companies.

“The preparation and interest of 367 of our youngest students has been key to the success of the program, surprising and inspiring company executives to share both their professional and personal experiences.”
Isabel Martin, Senior Associate Director for IEU Talent & Careers

During the Company Insights, companies gave a presentation about themselves and the projects that the students would partake in. This is the first point of contact between the students and the companies and for many students, this is their first experience ever with a company in a professional setting.

Companies such as Crowgenix, Huercasa, Futuro Perfecto came to IE University to meet with the students. Other businesses such as Signify, Howden, and Hogan Lovell invited students to their offices for the presentation.

Deloitte came to IE’s Segovia Campus and presented to 72 ambitious students. They had six positions for the General Program: Consulting, Risk Advisory, Financial Advisory, and Deloitte Legal. Students came prepared and had the chance to ask insightful questions ranging from the type of work load they would be dealing with to what kind of obstacles they would face. They even got to ask more personal questions such as, why do you like working at Deloitte? Deloitte’s team of course provided the student with honest and refreshing answers.

Another impactful project was presented by The IE Center for Social Innovation and Sustainability. They will soon launch the Digital Transformation Project of Small Businesses in which they offer support to small businesses in Madrid to develop digital strategies, accompanying them in their effort to manage the impact that COVID crisis has on them. This is an amazing opportunity that combines higher education with investing in the local community in Madrid.

Last but not least, Quevana, a young and small company making vegan cheese visited the IE Segovia campus and presented two projects that the students could take part in. Working with a startup would provide students with the chance to work directly with the CEO and their work could possibly have a more direct effect on the company. Proving that from consulting to vegan cheese, the Young Corporate Program is an invaluable opportunity for students to get real corporate experience, put forth by IE’s Talent & Careers department.

During this two-month round of Company Insights, we are thrilled to have witnessed that students feel inspired and more confident in their leadership capabilities. To be continued!
