The Master in International Relations study plan

The Master in International Relations has a dynamic study plan that leaves plenty of room for personalization. Generally, it’s divided into three parts:

The pre-program

This mandatory period introduces you to the basics of global affairs, allowing you to build a solid foundation for the rest of your studies. You’ll take various international relations courses in economics, quantitative skills and international studies.

The core period

This comprises the main bulk of the program, going in-depth into key international relations topics and concepts. You’ll study courses in statistics, ethics, public policy and innovation, among others.

More importantly, you will build skills in your areas of interest through three distinct specialization tracks. These include Geopolitics and Diplomacy; International Economics and Business; and Global Governance and International Cooperation.

It doesn’t stop there—choose a geographical region that captures your interest to further customize your Master in International Relations. This specialization provides exposure to your chosen region’s history, culture and role in global affairs. Specifically, you can choose to focus on:

• Europe and North America
• China and East Asia
• Africa
• the Middle East and North Africa
• Latin America

The final project

Your final project will take one of two formats:

• An individual, research-based thesis, or
• A group-based consultancy capstone project for a real organization or think tank

This final project will demonstrate all you’ve learned throughout the program, allowing you to prove your practical skills in your chosen specialization.
