We put our students through their paces. Read on to find out how.
Don’t worry: At some time or another, we all find ourselves at a crossroads. There’s a need to grow organically in business on a daily basis. You’re probably wondering what move to make next. Finance, economics, and STEM fields. Great areas, but they’re competitive. You need clear proof of your skillset. Sure, you might be up to the job. But getting educated is nailed-on proof that you know your stuff. That’s where we come in.
How to grow organically in business
Business growth is all about skillsets. But which ones? You need ability in leadership, communication and strategy. You also need to be able to negotiatiate, speak in public and nurture real human relationships. And that’s not all. You need real financial acumen. That means being able to analyze profitability and assess your marketing approaches. That’s still not all.
Today, you have to evolve constantly. If you don’t have a firm grasp of innovation and understand the mammoth capabilities of tech, things won’t work out. So you have to be adaptable and resilient in the face of intense pressure. It’s a lot, but we can guide you through change with our Master in Management & Strategy.
Luca Ferretini transformed himself
Introducing Luca Ferretini, a current Master in Management & Strategy student. He’s worked at KPMG and FINEDA and his outlook has been utterly transformed by the projects at IE Business School. “[We] had the privilege to spend the day in Parla, Madrid’s neighborhood, at Colegio San Miguel Hernández. The day was filled with teamwork and purpose, organized by the incredible team and people of Splash Projects.”
The Splash Project brings IE Business School students to benefit three charities in Madrid. Impactful activities include building an obstacle walkway for the blind, creating a themed play area for children with autism, and constructing a rest area for a residential center for adults with disabilities.
It’s good work for the community. And it helps students understand the meaning of teamwork and social impact.
Luca has transformed himself through his efforts on the Master in Management & Strategy “I’m realizing more each day that giving back to the community is the ultimate goal in life,” says Luca. “What’s truly inspiring is that no matter the industry or market we end up in, we can always make a positive impact.” And it’s all down to IE Business School’s hands-on learning. “We worked hard, had fun, and got the chance to meet the kids who will begin their school journey, learning and growing in the very open-air space we helped construct and transform that day…. We are the future, and together we can build a better, more sustainable world.”
Immersive learning makes you grow organically in business
Community-building is one of the few ways you’ll be immersed in hands-on learning. You’ll also work in a unique immersive simulation called Medical Intelligence Monitoring Systems, Inc. (MIMS, Inc.), where a mock company replicates the lightning-fast world of business. But can a business simulation really replicate real-world experiences? The answer is yes. You have an opportunity to practice leadership training, strategic insight and international exposure. These are invaluable for you as a young professional in the cut-throat world of business.
It’s dynamic and it’s demanding. Like Luca, you’ll rotate through mock departments for marketing, finance, operations, and HR. We call these “Department Challenges” and you’ll carry them out with business sprints.
The experience shows how interconnected business functions are. When you find your rhythm, you’ll be able to think critically, make decisions on the fly and function in a multi-disciplinary team.
The pressure escalates with the Immersive Strategy Challenge, a three-month test where you take on simulated leadership roles. These challenges are yet more stimulating and force you to perform under pressure with tough decisions and uncertainty. Our expert faculty will guide you through the resulting reflections on leadership that run deeper than the typical business school education.
