Real-life simulations: Medical Intelligence Monitoring Systems, Inc. (MIMS, Inc.)
The Master in Management & Strategy incorporates an immersive methodology to prepare students for the challenges of today’s business world and accelerate their career trajectories.
1. You’ll be exposed to the work environment of a simulated company—Madrid-based Medical Intelligence Monitoring Systems, Inc. (MIMS, Inc.), a specialist in wearable health monitoring devices, founded in 2015.
2. The simulated company develops cutting-edge solutions which are aimed at individuals with chronic conditions and health-conscious consumers. Its flagship products include CGM+, a continuous glucose monitoring device; Metabreath, a metabolic breath analyzer; and FitMIMS, a fitness tracker.
3. In the Master in Management & Strategy, you’ll experience graduate-program simulation training with the company. This is faciliated by expert faculty members who’ll play the role of department head at MIMS, Inc.
4. You’ll gain strategic foresight and international business vision from inside a rapidly growing company, focusing on the advanced business fundamentals you’ll need in the real world.

A project-based approach for the real world of business
The Master in Management & Strategy employs a project-based approach, using a role-play structure to capture real-world team dynamics. You’ll also work together with our Master in Management students for labs and electives, broadening your perspective and allowing you to forge professional connections.

Department challenges
We divide students into groups, or “mini departments,” in which each of them plays a specific role. You can think of these as business sprints carried out in the classroom!
Role-play structure for simulation training
Role plays occur throughout the core terms of the program, with department rotations in the first and second terms. We allocate students to various “departments,” each representing different core classes. Within these departments, you’ll sharpen and refine your foundational skills across functional areas including strategy, finance, marketing, operations, IT and HR.
The Lab
One of IE Business School’s most successful learning experiences and a key part of the program’s business simulation. In teams, you’ll tackle a real-world business challenge, receive firsthand briefings from company executives, and engage with them throughout the five-week module. You can choose from the following Lab options: the Business Impact Lab, Startup Lab, Tech Lab or Social Impact Lab.
A mandatory internship
You’ll access our extensive network of partnership agreements and choose the company that’s right for you. This is an opportunity for networking and also helps you apply everything you’ve learned in the program in a real-life setting.
The immersive Strategy Challenge
Here you’ll assume the role of a department head within a simulated company operating in a dynamic market environment. Over three months, you and your team will navigate real-world challenges and opportunities across various sectors.
Global Immersion Month
You’ll gain crucial international experience as you explore two different cities. You’ll have a week of immersive classes with our academic partners in each city, followed by a week of company visits to get up-to-date insights into the local business landscape. This therefore gives you in-depth knowledge of foreign industry.
