Carlos Pio
Carlos Pio is a distinguished Brazilian political scientist and seasoned government executive. A graduate of the renowned IUPERJ - Rio de Janeiro’s Social Sciences Institute, Dr. Pio has dedicated much of his academic career to exploring the intricacies of international political economy. With particular emphasis on trade policies and liberalization, his research delves into the institutional causes of economic development.
Corporate Experience
Carlos Pio has taken senior Executive positions in the Brazilian federal government, in Brasilia.
• Secretary of the Board of International Trade and Investments, affiliated with the Minister of the Economy, 2019 – 2021
• Undersecretary for Strategic Planning, Executive Office of the President of Brazil, 2017 – 2018
