Joe Niklas Ploog

Joe N. Ploog is Assistant Professor in the Strategy Department at IE University. His research focuses on intra-platform competition and heterogeneous network effects, and his work has been published in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Academy of Management Discoveries. Joe obtained his PhD in Strategy from the UCL, School of Management in London. He graduated cum laude (distinction) with an MSc. Program in Strategic Management at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and received a BA. in International Business from Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen and Nuremberg.

In his free time, Joe likes cooking, eating, and playing (video and board) games, which often inspire the empirical settings for his research.
