José García Cedrun

José García Cedrun is a member of Barings Alternative Investments, a global real estate, private equity, and real assets platform. As the Director of European Origination of the company’s Real Estate Debt Team, he is responsible for the origination of real estate loans, primarily in Continental Europe. García Cedrun has more than 15 years of experience in the real estate industry.

Prior to joining his current firm in 2020, García Cedrun was a Managing Director at Aexx Capital, an alternative investment platform focused on providing flexible capital solutions to real estate opportunities. Prior to this, he was Director of the London-based hedge fund Chenavari Investment Managers, where he was in charge of sourcing and executing investment opportunities in Southern Europe. In addition, García Cedrun has worked as Director at Drago Capital, a Madrid-based investment platform where he completed direct asset acquisition transactions in excess of $2.3 billion dollars.

García Cedrun holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and a master’s degree in Real Estate Business from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and previously served as a board member of Merlin Properties Socimi, SA. He has been an Adjunct Professor in Real Estate Finance at The Global Master in Real Estate Development at IE University since 2021.
