Geobiology Lab
Geobiology Lab
The Geobiology Lab allows students to conduct applied research in archaeology, conservation and restoration. As part of the lab, students will use petrographic and mineralogical techniques to study rock and mineral deposits, tectonic plate movement and more.Â
Providing a space to conduct research, students will be able to take the Geobiology Lab in the first three years of their program, as well as use their research, and carry out more, to create their final capstone project.Â

Create a movement
Although the things you’re studying can be small, the impact of your discoveries can be seismic. The Geobiology Lab gives you the space and resources to investigate rocks, plates and other materials to identify and detect how the world has shifted and changed over time, and predict where it’s heading next.

Hands-on learning
Building on the foundations learned in the classroom, the Geobiology Lab puts you in the thick of practical study in the first three years of your program. Get hands on with rocks and minerals as you conduct original research to add to what you've learned in the classroom and inform your work in the real world of archaelogy, conservation and restoration.

Guided by leaders
Our faculty is made up of leaders in the field. Examine, explore, ask questions and find solutions under the watchful eyes of leading professionals who have been there and done the same. What’s more, your time in the lab can lead to research for your capstone project, which will also be guided by our faculty.
