Daniil Kim
Coming from the Kyrgyz Republic in Central Asia, Spanish isn’t a language that’s generally considered useful. But when I was young, it sparked an interest in me and I studied it for five years. After a holiday in Spain and finding out about the IE scholarships, I worked hard to get good grades and qualify for one. Here at IE University, I’ve learned the importance of taking opportunities and making connections. I don’t know exactly what my future holds but I think everything I’ve learned here will be valuable down the line.
"If you have a goal, run to it. If you can’t run, walk to it. If you can’t walk, crawl towards it. And if you can’t even crawl, at least lie down and look in its direction."
Daniil Kim worked hard to get where he is today. He decided to undertake the International Baccalaureate to open up new options for study around the world. However, it was a difficult journey full of late nights and many sacrifices. After coming to IE University, he has found the experience extremely enriching, especially the presentations given by influential people and learning from professors with incredible portfolios. In his free time, Daniil likes to read in different languages, collect and study butterflies, and play the piano and guitar. He prefers classical music, and counts Frédéric Chopin, Francisco Tarrega, and Isaac Albeniz as among his favorite composers.
