Maria Jose Heshiki de las Casas
I was born in Peru, but I consider myself Peruvian, Japanese and Spanish because I have lived internationally my whole life. When I was looking for a degree program, IE University stood out for its cultural diversity and international student body. When looking more closely, the way the Bachelor in Design is structured, allowing us flexibility and space to explore different disciplines not only within design, but also in fields like business, marketing, communication and even psychology, convinced me that it was the right program for me.
"Starting my degree in Segovia and then later moving to Madrid was perfect. The Segovia campus is a tight-knit community where you can make friends from all over the world."
Maria Jose is used to living in international environments. Starting the Bachelor in Design at the Segovia campus has enabled her to make close ties with the tight-knit international student body and faculty members on campus, and then move to Madrid for a new exciting experience. She is head of PR for the Debate Club and works on design elements for the student run newspaper The Stork, allowing her to grow and evolve as a designer.
