I excelled in computer science during high school, and I knew that IE University would provide the right environment to turn my technical abilities into real-world business value. My goal is to become a top-tier software engineer, and my IE Experience has given me the tools necessary to make that vision a reality. In this way, the program has profoundly impacted both my personal and professional development. That said, the most memorable aspect of my time here has been the friendships and connections I've made. By connecting with peers worldwide and taking on diverse leadership roles, I feel as though I’m actively honing my skills and contributing to the tech community.

Bridging cultures, coding futures
Zaid Alsaheb’s Bachelor in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence trajectory demonstrates the power of community building and innovation. Immersed in his studies, Zaid is honing his technical skills while connecting with students and professionals from across the globe.
Diverse friendships stand out as the most rewarding aspect of the program for this inspiring student. Coming from unique backgrounds and representing at least six continents, his peers have profoundly shaped his IE Experience. According to Zaid, this cultural diversity has made his academic journey enlightening and deeply personal. “It’s a privilege to be part of such a global and vibrant community where I can collaborate on projects with people from around the world,” he says.
Outside the classroom, Zaid has become an integral member of IE University’s tech community through various extracurricular groups. In addition to serving as the Google Developer Student Club lead, he’s the vice president of the IE Robotics & AI Club.
Because of these roles, Zaid has made a lasting impact by organizing events catering to all knowledge levels. With various meaningful projects and large-scale events under his belt, his leadership has provided invaluable learning opportunities for other students. None of this could have been possible without the IE Community and its continuous support.
Along with his extracurricular commitments, the Bachelor in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence has positively transformed Zaid’s professional work ethic. Despite facing challenges, everything aligned for this student when he joined the IE Robotics & AI Lab as a research assistant.
According to Zaid, working in the Lab required immense perseverance and pushed him to new heights. The hard work paid off and he was able to contribute to advanced projects, all while gaining valuable hands-on experience with various cutting-edge innovations.
Zaid also sharpened his technical and problem-solving capabilities during this time, which he considers key to future success. Following this milestone, today he aspires to become a top-level software engineer, working on large-scale technologies that drive society and daily life.
In regards to incoming or prospective students, Zaid offers the following tip: “Embrace the chance to stand out. Don’t hesitate to start new initiatives, put your ideas into action or just show your work.“ This mindset has helped him connect with peers and mentors with mutual passions, opening doors to opportunities he never expected.
As Zaid continues his studies, he is confident that the program will prepare him to excel in his ambitions. With his advanced technical skills, leadership experience and global network, he’s on track to make a significant impact in software engineering and tech.
