Biology conference with guest speaker Dr. Antonio Monge
When: Thursday 15 December at 11:00
Where: Chapter Room of IE University
From the dawn of the 21st century, Research and Development in medicine has been immersed in a transformation motivated by the changes in the environment. Important aspects such as the so-called “New Medicine”, characterized by the tendency for minimal intervention, more predictive results and more technical processes all led to further importance given to cutting-edge areas of research such as: biotechnology, biocomputing, pharmacogenetics, pharmacogenomics, regenerative medicine, bioengineering, etc.
Faced with this panorama come several questions: What challenges await medical R&D in the 21st century? What repercussions could the economic crisis have in investigation? What are the demands imposed by “New Medicine” to current researchers? Is translational research a good model to follow? How is the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries adapting and transforming to decisive changes in the environment?
In this conference an exceptional guest speaker, Professor Dr. D. Antonio Monge Vega, will help us answer these questions and more by tapping into an expansive background of experience in the area of drug R&D, both nationally and internationally, which is at the forefront in these important new areas of transformation and investigation.
