Pich Technologies reaches the finals of Fintech Venture Day Madrid 2016 and enters the running for the European Fintech awards

Pich Technologies, a finance and banking data supplier founded by alumni of IE University’s Bachelor in Business Administration, is in the running this week for two major international prizes that could make it one of the most promising technology-based startups in the European finance sector.

Created in Madrid in 2013 by Ignacio Gamoneda from Spain and Munya Gwisai from Zimbabwe, Pich Technologies develops software that permits any developer or firm in Spain to access financial data easily and simply. The service is also set to be extended to the rest of EU countries.

The idea that these IE University alumni had of offering their clients a series of financial services by means of technology that is simple, cheat and easy to use, has served to get them into the finals of international competition Fintech Venture Day Madrid 2016, set to take place on April 14 in Madrid. The competition aims to bring together start-ups that develop solutions for the financial services industry, and is sponsored by Santander InnoVentures, IE Business School, and Accenture. Organized to take place in three cities worldwide over the course of 2016, it has already been held in Tel Aviv in February will now take place in Madrid in April, followed by the Sao Paulo edition in May.

The key aim of Fintech Venture Day Madrid 2016 is to inspire and strengthen the growth of the Fintech startups ecosystem in Spain. In order to achieve this, the competition organizers have put together an intense workshop for investors and entrepreneurs to examine the challenges currently faced by small technology-based businesses dedicated to finance infrastructure in the Spanish ecosystem. The startups that received the most votes will receive support and resources from the companies sponsoring the event in order to boost their projects and foster development. Without doubt, Fintech Venture Day Madrid 2016 provides a magnificent opportunity to showcase Pich Technologies which, after just three years, aspires to become Europe’s largest provider of financial data.

Pich Technologies is also in the running for the European edition of FinTech prizes which will be awarded in Amsterdam, also on April 14, at an event where more than four hundred entrepreneurs, directors of innovation from the banking sector, investors and advisers from the fintech sector will meet to interact with startup founders and to set up businesses. Pich Technologies was nominated in the “innovative banking software” category of these prestigious prizes in Europe’s fintech sector.
