IE University's School of Architecture and Design is to collaborate with Madrid City Hall on designing an urban strategy for the capital. Madrid’s Mayor, José Luis Martínez Almeida, and Salvador Carmona, Rector of IE University, today signed an agreement to promote innovation and formulate proposals to achieve a balance between economic development, social integration and sustainability.

Through the agreement, students of the Master in Real Estate Development at IE School of Architecture and Design will contribute to the Madrid 360 General Plan Territorial Design and Urban Strategy Project.

The main objectives of this agreement are, among others, to share knowledge in the field of territorial design and urban strategy, as well as formulate proposals that contribute to achieving a balance between economic development, along with social integration and sustainability, and to support the development of urban projects that consolidate the city of Madrid as a benchmark in urban management.

"It is an honor and an exciting opportunity to be able to collaborate with the Madrid municipal government on this initiative."
David Goodman, Dean of IE School of Architecture and Design at IE University

"Our School is dedicated to applying the power of creative industries to build a more sustainable, more just, and more beautiful world. The city is perhaps the most important arena for this work, and we look forward to contributing to the shaping of the Madrid of the future", said David Goodman, Dean of IE School of Architecture and Design at IE University.
