The IE Center for Health & Well-being is organizing a week of activities focused on our health and the importance of an active social life.

To celebrate World Happiness Day, IE University is staging IE Happiness Week 2025 over the next five days. The IE Center for Health & Well-being, in collaboration with the IE Sports & Well-being and IE Campus Life teams, is organizing a range of activities for the institution's 160-country body of students, teachers and staff focused on the importance of taking care of our health, as well raising awareness about the positive impact social relationships have on our happiness.

The week will begin with EmocionArte, a concert organized in collaboration with the Fundación Princesa de Girona to highlight the power of music as a tool for improvement, growth and transformation.

On Tuesday the 18th, sport will be the focus, with 'District 280 Bootcamp', a cardiovascular strength and endurance workout, along with a sun salutation session to welcome in the spring. "Beyond friendship, sport builds resilience by teaching perseverance, teamwork, and togetherness, empowering us to navigate life's challenges with confidence and positivity, leading to long-term happiness," explains Clint Goodrich, Executive Director of Sports & Well-being.

Art will also feature in the program of activities, with Alicia Framis’s Leave Here Your Fears installation. Framis will also take part in a panel discussion with Carlos Urroz, Director of the Institutional Office of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía. In addition, students will be able to join a guided tour of the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza.

On Wednesday the 19th, Lisa Bevill, Academic Director of the IE Center for Health & Well-being, and Borja Santos, Vice-Dean of IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs, will present Bhutan's Gross National Happiness, a multimedia case study developed with the IE Digital Learning team.

As part of IE Happiness Week, says Elisa Hicks, Director of IE Campus Life, IE University will celebrate Creativity Day: "Creativity drives growth, innovation and well-being. On International Happiness Day, the Creativity Center in Segovia encourages students to collaborate and think critically," she explains, adding: "The theme of this year's IE Creativity Day, (Fr)Agility, highlights how embracing fears and failures can inspire, empower and help us achieve our goals with resilience."

Lisa Bevill concludes: "Contributing to our community fosters connection and thriving, which in turn leads to greater positive impact."

"We all have the capacity to dedicate time to well-being, contribute to community and enjoy the many emotions and learning that life's journey offers."
