IE University and the China Scholarship Council announce a broad agreement to award full scholarships to more than 100 Chinese students
To enhance the diversity of thought and experience in the classroom, IE University & the China Scholarship Council have renewed and enhanced their scholarship partnership
IE University announces the renewal and enhancement of the ambitious scholarship agreement with the China Scholarship Council (CSC), thanks to which more than 100 academically successful Chinese students will be selected over a period of three years to complete their studies at IE University in an extraordinarily diverse and international environment in Madrid, almost double that of the previous agreement.
Both institutions agree to jointly choose up to 72 students to partake for the next 3 years in IE’s Master in International Development and the Master in International Relations program. In addition, they broadened the range of programs offered and will consider up to 18 Chinese nationals to partake in the Master of Laws (LL.M.) and up to 18 for the Master in Applied Economics. This last program features three specialized elective track, the IE-CSC scholarship only covers the Economics for Public Policy track.
Students in these four master´s programs need to be ready to take on today's global and legal challenges from various perspectives.
“Thanks to this agreement, up to 36 Chinese citizens will get the opportunity to come to IE every year to complete their graduate studies in International Relations, Development, Law and Economics. This is not only an enormous opportunity for each of them individually but also a testament to the ability of academic endeavors to build bridges across borders and cultures,” said Manuel Muniz, Dean of IE’s School of Global and Public Affairs.

The scholarship will include tuition fees, as well as a monthly living allowance, a return international airfare and visa application fees, all provided by the China Scholarship Council. The China Scholarship Council will select candidates according to its needs and entry criteria. The school will evaluate the applications and extend offers based on the IE standard for academic excellence and English language proficiency.
To be considered by the China Scholarship Council, candidates must be a citizen of the People’s Republic of China and have at least 6 consecutive months of study or work experience abroad, and:
- be enrolled in the final year of a master’s degree program or have recently graduated with a master’s degree and, if selected, must commence the study in IE within one year of graduation; or
- have graduated with a bachelor’s degree while having the experience of working in an international organization as intern or other types of work for at least 6 months.
