Alejandro Ameneiro, Director of Innovation at IE University, highlights the speed of technological development: “The launch of Apple Vision Pro is a significant leap in the consumption of spatial and immersive content, accelerating the possibilities and opening up opportunities for education. Combined with the latest advances in artificial intelligence, we are witnessing a transformative milestone for education in record time.”

IE University, recognized among the most innovative universities in the world, and a pioneer in Europe with more than 20 years of experience in the design of online Masters, has designed methodologies, content and experiences with VR, AR and XR in areas of technology, sustainability, negotiation, marketing, and communication that deepen learning and encourage decision-making and class discussion. Among other materials, students study the challenge of climate change based on the Eye in the Storm VR case.

VR Classrooms

In addition, IE University has launched virtual campuses in metaverses such as the IE Virtual Gallery (Spatial.io) and the IE Immersive Campus (Arthur.digital), where students attend class and take part in events in the digital sphere. In IE University’s VR Classrooms, students and professors work with VR for academic purposes within the program; IE also has the IE XR LAB, which is equipped with a wide range of VR devices for students to discover the potential of immersive content for learning.

This year, IE University celebrates The Next 50, an initiative to reimagine the future and analyze the challenges of the new world of work. As part of The Next 50, the institution has designed a journey through time with AR technology, installing VR portals at its historic campus in Segovia, the María de Molina campus and at IE Tower. These portals provide an immersive classroom experience from different historical eras, highlighting the key role of the professor in education.
