Grammy nominated Top DJ and producer, Steve Aoki, will be the star guest of IE University's graduation night on July 17th. The American musician, who performs on the world's biggest stages and has millions of followers around the globe, will be hooking up from his studio in Los Angeles and getting more than 7,000 IE University students from 140 countries dancing in celebration of their graduation. Prior to the music,Dani García, the internationally respected three-star Michelin chef from Andalusia, will be cooking graduation dinner online with IE University’s newest alumni and their parents.
In the early afternoon, students will participate in the online graduation ceremony and receive their diplomas in a unique virtual and immersive environment. Throughout the day, students will also have the opportunity to attend a session on mindfulness with Dr. Mario Alonso Puig, President of the IE University Center for Health, Wellbeing and Happiness and compete in an exclusive FortniteTournament and in a virtual Escape Room where their ingenuity and intelligence will be put to the test.
“We anticipated events at the start of the health crisis and, from one day to the next, we activated our online training platforms for 7,000 students on all of our programs to protect their health and that of our faculty and staff.”
Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño, President of IE University
“The level of commitment, effort and solidarity that we have seen over the last few months has been extraordinary. We are very proud of our Class of 2020 and we want to acknowledge them and celebrate their achievements with a graduation ceremony to match. There will be events at the highest level that we would not have been able to organize in person,” says Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño, President of IE University.
Last June, IE University presented its strategiccommitment to liquid learning, a unique training model that transforms the educational experience. The programs will have an innovative design that integrates classroom sessions on campus; hybrid sessions with some students in the classroom and others connected online to the same session with the same immersive experience, and asynchronous sessions to encourage individual work.
