The importance of mental health has been a topic very much touched upon during the last decade due to its essential relevance in many individuals' lives. Approximately 280 million people in the world have experienced either depression or anxiety at some time in their lives. Blooming is a project born from this alarming circumstance in need of designing solutions to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of humans.
The childhood of an individual plays a crucial role in their growth and adulthood. There is a relationship between an unhealthy childhood, and the chances of experiencing depression or/and anxiety in the future. Consequently, this project tackles the problem from its point of origin: childhood.
The aim of Blooming is to enhance mental health awareness and promote individual empowerment from an early age. This is portrayed through a set of therapeutic and entertaining activities for children. These activities are designed to encourage and foment family union to generate a safe and open environment for the beneficial development of children. Blooming focuses on providing guidance to develop healthy skills to express emotions, obtaining tools that will help children boost their self esteem and grow confident about themselves. In such manner, encouraging and inspiring them to learn about mindfulness, thus caring about their wellbeing.
