El Nostre Nou Port: Reshaping the Port of Valencia

During the initial group research of the city, various layers of information were overlapped, unveiling crucial conclusions for the development of the project: the water as a meaningful element; the city and the port, which are understood as independent entities; and the existence of 31 schools in a radius of 1.5 km around the Port of Valencia. The proposed use for the project is to develop a Project-Based Learning Center located on the old Tinglados of Valencia. The master plan focuses on recovering the oldest part of the Port of Valencia and reshaping it, activating the shoreline and taking full advantage of this artificial bay.

Three main elements form the architectural proposal: The Ribbon, The Tower and The Volumes. These elements anchor the proposal and intertwine the Port of Valencia as a whole, producing a lively waterfront park with a strong presence in the city, paying tribute to its unique history, and producing sufficient public access to help give the shoreline back to its people.
