We have just completed the fifth week of the Bootcamp, and the intensity is increasing. I started the Bootcamp with no prior coding experience and a very shaky memory of math and statistics. However, in the first four weeks, this course has taken me to a point where I feel relatively comfortable with Python and the key statistical concepts we need for Data Science. Now that we have our clients assigned, we’re expected to take this knowledge and apply it to the real world to generate value. I think it’s impressive that within a month, this course has given us the knowledge to be able to do this.
One of the biggest challenges I am finding with the course is not so much the technical difficulty of the subjects, but the breadth of subjects we are covering—from Python to SQL, to statistics. As the course gets more intense, I think the most important thing will be to balance my time between all of the subjects, while also making sure we deliver a great product to the client.
So far, this course seems to be giving me all the skills I need to be able to enter the job market as a data scientist. I hope I can continue to get the most out of it over the next two months.
